About
The Kenner Rivertown Arts Council was appointed by Mayor Mike S. Yenni in 2015 and is officially recognized by the Kenner City Council as an authorized city commission. The Rivertown Arts Council is a private nonprofit entity. Our mission is to work in partnership with the City of Kenner, community groups, local, state, national governmental agencies and other nonprofit arts organizations to meet the arts and cultural needs of the Kenner community through diversity of initiatives and services.
The establishment of the Rivertown Arts Council comes at a time when Rivertown has been designated as one of the 36 MAIN STREET communities in Louisiana. This designation makes multiple state and federal resources available to help continued growth of the historic district.
Since our establishment in 2015, the Rivertown Arts Council has raised awareness of local artists in Rivertown by establishing art centered events, festivals and opportunities for local artists. From out 3rd Saturday RAAD (Rivertown Art After Dark) Series to our La Salle's Landing Butterfly Garden Project and our revolving mural display in our Rivertown Arts Council Community Courtyard.
