RIVERTOWN ARTIST TALK SERIES Join us on Thursday, September 20th for our next presentation in our ARTIST TALK SERIES featuring New Orleans native Photographer, Alex Byrd Join the Rivertown Arts Council, neighbors, and friends at the new Fleur De Lily Cafe & Bakery to learn more about the art and life of Alex Byrd _ We will feature new artists every month. Thursday, September 20, 2018  Fleur De Lily Cafe & Bakery 325 Williams Blvd.- Kenner, LA _ 7:00pm _ Alex Byrd is a native New Orleanian.  He attended Southern University in New Orleans.  His venture into photography started as a personal hobby.  His family and friends took notice of his talent and started making special requests for him to photograph them.  As he tells it, "I enjoyed capturing those special moments and freezing them in time." His specialties include street-life photography, fashion, weddings, and personal portraits.  He is self-taught and as he tells it "learning more everyday." He is also the grandson of the late Professor Longhair (Henry Roeland Byrd) and attributes his work ethics to what he learned from his grandfather.
