Hope to see you there!!! Wednesday, July 18, 2018 Fleur De Lily Cafe & Bakery 325 Williams Blvd.- Kenner, LA _ 7:00pm _ Eric Waters is a native New Orleanian. He has been a professional photographer for more than 30 years. He decided early on in his career that New Orleans Street Culture had significant historical value and was extremely worthy of documentation. He is known best for capturing the vibrant and energetic scenes of the Second Line and the New Orleans Mardi Gras Indians. His work has also appeared in local and national magazines, newspapers, brochures, and show bills. In 2005 he lost his home and the majority of his life’s work to Hurricane Katrina. But, it has not deterred him or his desire to continue the documentation of the culture. _ Angel Perdomo or better known as just Angel, was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras in 1989 but later moved to New Orleans, Louisiana in 1996. He received his Bachelor of Arts in painting and print making from the University of New Orleans in May 2013. Angel has been in several juried exhibitions in New Orleans and also shown nationally in Philadelphia , New York , and Atlanta. He is also a member of the Antenna Collective which is in the St. Claude Art District in New Orleans. Angel currently lives and works in New Orleans, Louisiana. He attended Southern University in New Orleans. His venture into photography started as a personal hobby. His family and friends took notice of his talent and started making special requests for him to photograph them. As he tells it, "I enjoyed capturing those special moments and freezing them in time." His specialties include street-life photography, fashion, weddings, and personal portraits. He is self-taught and as he tells it "learning more everyday." He is also the grandson of the late Professor Longhair (Henry Roeland Byrd) and attributes his work ethics to what he learned from his grandfather. She has created a unique world on a variety of art pieces utilizing handmade paper as her focus and incorporating various other techniques, such as oil painting, watercolor, wood-block painting, graphics, pen and wash, and charcoal drawing, among others. _ Zulay was born in Santa Teresa Del Tuy in the state of Miranda in Venezuela. She graduated from the School of Plastic Arts “Cristobal Rojas” with a Technical Degree in Pure Art in Caracas, Venezuela in 1979. She later graduated from the School of Graphic Arts “CEGRA” also in Caracas, Venezuela in 1981. There she learned graphic arts and papermaking. In 1992, she studied and began creating handmade books. In 1997 she was invited to the project “Artists in Residence 97” in Mino City, Japan. _ Zulay Herrera Nakamura has participated in more than 80 exhibitions in Venezuela and other countries throughout the world, such as Costa Rica, Japan, France, Brazil, Germany, Yugoslavia, the United States, and more. _ In addition to creating and exhibiting her art, Zulay has been an educator for more than 20 years, teaching art in middle and high schools, universities, art schools, and cultural organizations in Venezuela and abroad.
