Hope to see you there!!! _ Tuesday, November 6, 2018 _  Fleur De Lily Rivertown Cafe'  _ 325 Williams Blvd.- Kenner, LA _ (504)336-4268 _ 7:00pm _ Zulay Herrera Nakamura expresses the joy and suffering that we experience in our daily lives.  She has created a unique world on a variety of art pieces utilizing handmade paper as her focus and incorporating various other techniques, such as oil painting,  watercolor,  wood-block painting, graphics, pen and wash, and charcoal drawing, among others. _ Zulay was born in Santa Teresa Del Tuy in the state of Miranda in Venezuela.  She graduated from the School of Plastic Arts “Cristobal Rojas” with a Technical Degree in Pure Art in Caracas, Venezuela in 1979. She later graduated from the School of Graphic Arts “CEGRA” also in Caracas, Venezuela in 1981. There she learned graphic arts and papermaking. In 1992, she studied and began creating handmade books. In 1997 she was invited to the project “Artists in Residence 97” in Mino City, Japan. _ Zulay Herrera Nakamura has participated in more than 80 exhibitions in Venezuela and other countries throughout the world, such as Costa Rica, Japan, France, Brazil, Germany, Yugoslavia, the United States, and more. _ In addition to creating and exhibiting her art, Zulay has been an educator for more than 20 years, teaching art in middle and high schools, universities, art schools, and cultural organizations in Venezuela and abroad.  Zulay currently resides in the state of Louisiana, where she continues teaching, creating art, and participating in exhibitions. _ Sponsored by: _ Rivertown Arts Council - Rivertown Mainstreet - Friends of Rivertown - Fleur De Lily Rivertown Cafe' #art #Rivertown #rivertownartscouncil #artisttalkseries #Kenner
